When Apple released iOS 5 to the general public many users who relied on a carrier unlock upgraded thinking that they would still be able to unlock their iPhone 4, but as they were all wrong. What upgrading to iOS 5 did was introduce a new baseband called 4.11.08 which as it turned out, it could not be unlocked with a Miracle Sim Card.

So basically everyone who relied on a carrier unlock got stuck on a new baseband, 4.11.08, which could not be unlocked.

In the first two-three weeks people could just downgrade their firmware to iOS 4.3.5. What it did was downgrade the baseband too so people could unlock using Gevey SIM, but then Apple stopped signing iOS 4.3.5 and then the whole trouble started.

Many people got on forums complaining and trying to find out solutions for unlocking iPhone 4 on 4.11.08 but as you know there was no solution. Then came Miracle SIM.

“Miracle SIM” seemed like a miracle for many users who could not use their iPhone 4 for weeks. When something sounds too good to be true it normally is, likewise so far there has been no confirmation on whether this Miracle Sim works. Even if it does work to unlock iPhone 4 there is a problem.

I asked iPhone Dev team member musclenerd about this new Miracle SIM. It has a huge flaw. According to musclenerd this Vold Miracle Sim won’t do any good as it is like sharing your phone number due to the way this new SIM works.

So basically there is no currently any solution for unlocking iPhone on this new firmware. If you see anyone claiming that they can unlock your iPhone for a little fee DO NOT fall for it, as it is most likely to be a scam.
